The International Law Commission (ILC) overviews the provision for environmental protection during armed conflict in ¬†international humanitarian law (IHL). It is suggested that there is ¬†renewed international attention to how war affects the environment.¬†The ILC proposes an examination of environmental protection during armed conflict aiming to produce a draft framework convention or statement of principles and rules on environmental protection during armed conflict.
